| The St. Joseph’s College was founded in the year 1881, by the Marist brothers. The college aims towards advancing the professional and the personal ambition of the individual aspirants by providing a demanding, flourishing and supporting educational experience. The college is located in the Hunter’s Hill and is situated on 16 hectares overlooking the Lane Cove and Parramatta Rivers, and the city of Sydney six kilometres away.
The college also has boarders from interstate and overseas. The place also has become a place of learning for some weekly students and the day students since the introduction of more flexible educational options. The college boast of a history of its old boys serving in the Boer War, the First World War – being numbered amongst Anzacs who died at Gallipoli – and in the Second World War and in service in Vietnam, Korea and East Timor.
Many famous personalities represent the St. Joseph’s College including the ex-Governor-General of Australia, Sir William Deane and the Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia, Chief Justice Murray Gleeson and the present Archbishop of Adelaide, Archbishop Philip Wilson.
The students in the Saint Joseph’s college remain in constant practice of adopting different aspects of the campus life including the athletic, academic, social, spiritual and ethical. Usually in their campus related activities the students focus on the personal honesty as well as a respect and concern for others. The university provides a detailed education program that not only grows but also expands their minds. The bases of all education programs include a General Education Requirement.

In the beginning phase in 1881 the Saint Joseph’s college had only 55 students which in 1971 reached to 300. In 1967 the counting of students reached to 750 and the enrolments of students is now somewhere around thousands.
Recently the college came into focus for giving best HSC Results for the year 2007. The college also received the Joeys School Certificate Results.
